The Trinity Jubilee Center’s new home opens
On February 3, 2026 we opened the doors of our new home at 123 Bates Street. After 35 years in the church basement we closed for 3 days to move, get set up, and reopen. Our priority was getting services for our clients back up and running as soon as possible. During evenings and weekends we continue to unpack and adjust our operations to our new space. When the dust has settled we’ll be announcing a grand opening event. Stay tuned! Read on below for the story of our move and please consider making a donation:
Every day, new people learn about our services and knock on our door. But our cramped rented space in the basement of the Trinity Episcopal Church could no longer keep up. We could serve our neighbors with efficiency and dignity in this cramped space and frequently faced difficult decisions on how to use our very limited space.
Our Challenges
For three decades our work has grown. Our programs serve more people and more programs are added. We had far outgrown our space:
- Our Food Pantry distributions were held outdoors, no matter the weather.
- Our medical, mental health, and substance misuse services were limited by a lack of private meeting rooms.
- Our food distribution capacity was limited by a lack of storage space for nonperishable and perishable foods.
- Our employment services were limited by a lack of office space.
- Our space was cramped, had no ventilation, and was not accessible for guests with mobility challenges.
Our New Home:
In December 2024 we broke ground on a new facility. On February 3, 2026, doors opened to the public. The new building offers nearly four times the space. At 10,000 sq ft, it eases practical burdens imposed by our current space, allowing our small staff to focus on what’s important: caring and compassion.
- The Day Shelter adds a shower and laundry facilities.
- Health services expand significantly with the addition of two exam rooms, a room for mental health services, a room for substance misuse services, and a waiting room.
- A walk-in refrigerator and walk-in freezer allows more food to be received and distributed
- More work stations are added to the office to assist more people with resumes and job applications.
- The Soup Kitchen has new appliances, including three stoves to prepare even more food.
- All Food Pantry distributions move indoors and this large room will also be used by partner agencies for workshops and classes.
Join Us:
Our community’s need is great, but the difference you can make is even greater. We’ve raised $4.97 million — including a $2 million federal award — of the total $5 million cost to build this new home. We’re so close to our goal, but we need the help of our neighbors to reach it.
Will you join us in creating this compassionate refuge where our neighbors in need, young and old, can escape despair and rekindle hope for their future?
Your gift will help us provide essential services, including meals, shelter, and support for the hungry and homeless.
