Health Services Coordinator
Job description:
The Trinity Jubilee Center is a multi-service, secular agency located in downtown Lewiston. The Center operates five programs: a soup kitchen, food pantry and diaper bank, day program for the homeless, resource center and free clinic, and immigrant integration program. The Center serves more than 1,000 clients each week. This winter the Center moves into a new facility: be part of this growing team and help expand operations!
The Center has operated a small free clinic for more than a decade and will be able to significantly expand health services in the new building. The facility will include two medical exam rooms, a room for mental health services, and a room for substance misuse services. The Center has been approved to host an AmeriCorps member in a full-time role from January to August 2026. AmeriCorps is like domestic Peace Corps.

“As a GoodHealth Works AmeriCorps member at the Trinity Jubilee Center, you’ll be at the heart of expanding life-changing public health services for the community. You will be the lead person creating and leading the daily operations of these expanded services. Your work will include recruiting, scheduling, and supporting volunteer medical providers and connecting with local agencies to bring critical medical, mental health, and substance use services on-site, ensuring that people in need have access to care. From scheduling providers and patients to promoting services and identifying gaps, you’ll play a key role in strengthening the Center’s impact.
GoodHealth Works places members with community organizations in Maine to address CDC-determined public health needs for underserved populations. Beyond coordination, you’ll be hands-on in the day shelter, building relationships with guests and helping them access essential resources, including showers, laundry facilities, and harm reduction supplies like HIV tests and overdose reversal medication. Every day, you’ll be making a direct difference in people’s lives by removing barriers to care and ensuring they have the support they need.”
Term dates: January 23, 2026 – August 20, 2026
Schedule: 40 hours per week
Education award: $5,176.50 at end of term
Living allowance: $16,800 total
Biweekly living allowance rate: $1,120

Floater, part time with focus on cooking
Job description:

This is a part time floater position four mornings per week, 13 hours per week. This position requires an understanding of and alignment with the Center’s mission and objectives; excellent time management and organizational skills, positivity and professionalism, and a passion for preparing good food. We are a busy community center and this is a dynamic, hands-on job. We are looking for someone who can roll up their sleeves and pitch in as part of the team!
At this time this position is focused on cooking in the Soup Kitchen. Responsibilities include:
- Menu planning and food preparation
- Ensuring adherence to food safety guidelines and keeping the space clean and organized
- Receiving and processing daily food donations
- Completing paperwork and working with community partners
- Making sure bathrooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces are kept clean and organized
- Helping to supervise daily volunteers, many of whom are not fluent in English
Additional responsibilities may include:
- Customer service, including distributing food to clients and helping clients with paperwork
- Supporting clients within the shelter, including supervising use of the laundry and shower facilities
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent skills in the areas of: customer service, problem-solving, attention to detail, organization, task prioritization and delegation, time management, and leadership.
- Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Required and Preferred Education and Experience:
- Required education: High school diploma
- Required experience: 1 year of customer service experience
- Preferred experience: 1 year of experience in food service
- Preferred experience: 1 year of experience in leadership
Work schedule:
- This is a non-exempt, part time position on site in Lewiston. The work schedule is Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 8:00 am – 11:00 am and Saturday 7:30 am-11:30 am. There may be more hours available when staff members are out.
Compensation and Benefits:
- The pay rate is $21 per hour.
- Paid time off includes accrued sick time and paid holidays
